Think of all the dollars sunk into health care for heart related illnesses, rising costs of health care, dependency on prescription drugs to lower cholesterol, blood pressure and heart surgeries performed. In 2001, the estimated cost of health care expenditures and lost productivity attributable to cardiovascular diseases was $298 billion.
